Assassin beetle

Here are pics of an Assassin Beetle that kept our thistle plants free of "bad bugs" for a few days, a few years ago. It's eating a Bumble Bee! While it was here it wasn't very particular about what bugs it ate, spiders, moths, anything it could get.

Don't know what this is, but it was actually almost this size. I got just a little close to it. It's in Kansas.

I did a little looking.


Be careful of this guy. Can deliver a nasty bite that can cause severe reactions.
They also carry the parasite that causes Chagas' Disease. I think that's the one they are calling the new aids.

Thanks John, I must have had a beer burp back up on me. Causes vapor lock. Hows your winter going. So hot and humid here if I step away from the AC it's only to go out to the pool.

Some more critters. Sorry I can't keep up with identification. If anyone can ID any of the posted critters please do.
I will most likely repost some and my only excuse is my memory is just like it used to be.
