Yeah. The first is a bug in a spider web, the second is a Gorgeous George bug, the others are bugs as well.Pacifism is great, as long as everyone is participating.

#2 is Dryocampa rubicunda - on a pale night!
Still leaves #3, on which I agree with Hammer. Its a bug, but it definitely ain't a dragonfly
FYI - I found these by scanning a ruck of plates at
Moth Photographers Group -- Main Menu
Now you can me by the name I've been called in the past by a few Chinese contacts - Jim Moth!!!!Jim in Mexico

At last Rob - an easy one - LOL!
That's an Automeris Io moth
You can see a gorgeous photo of one at this address if you replace the * with a w
w*w.treknature.com/gallery/Middle_East/Israel/photo59671.htm
Now seeing as I keep hopping up and down from my shop roof for your distractions can I go back up there and catch a few of my own. As dusk is falling here south of the border I'm being dive bombed by the bug- ers as they head for my shop lights.
Btw - scanning those plates I mentioned its amazing just how many types of moths there are just in North America and, on an interesting note, there is one classification system based on identifying them solely by their genitalia! Can you imagine being an expert in this field and having your expertise highlighted on your curriculum. Puts a whole new meaning to the phrase 'storing mothballs in your drawers'Last edited by jim_mex; 05-29-2012, 08:41 PM.Jim in Mexico

Sorry for BUGGIN' Jim.
You are right, the number and variety of critters is amazing.
I haven't found this guy yet. I get more of these more than any other.
The markings are always nearly identical just a variance in intensity.
I'm assuming male and female.

Hey Diane - thanks for the confirmation and the more familiar name.
Dryocampa rubicunda sure is one heck of a description to remember!
Hi Rob - you sure do get some beauties in your locality and this last one is another with spectacular markings. I forgot to ask previously but just where are you located? I'll see if I can find this latest one during the next coffee break.Jim in Mexico

Reply to Hegnerby Dave56Has anyone replaced the eccentric on the Hegner scroll saw or made any adjustments to this part.
I bought an used Hegner m22 and it vibrates at about 3/4 speed. Maybe I'm just over thinking this problem, last year I purchased a multi cut 3/25 inch Hegner it is a single speed and it runs like a...-
