I don't know, but maybe they caused the visitor having his breakfast of birch buds this morning. Would have been nice with a better lense.. They were actually two, but his fellow was in an impossible position for a shot from the window. When I went outside they both left before I got my camera up. - Just to keep you from wondering: Blackcock (Tetrao tetrix).

I enjoy being inside toasty and warm while looking at the snow outside. Being out in it is a different story. By the looks of it, you live in a beautiful location. Nice pictures.

Ivar, I like your visitors. It is great to watch all of the wildlife, wherever you may be. Oh, by the way, my grandad came from Norway & settled in the midwest state of Iowa. I spent most of my life there, looking at wildlife there. Now, I spend the warm winters in Arizona. The problem is, the summers. Today it was 95 degrees F. Enjoy your cabin & the life around it. Some oy you will probably consider me nuts, but I really enjoy staying up in the mountains at the cabin at this time of the year. The attached pictures shows the guests I had on Sunday. The two first frames where shot through the window, while the last one was taken in a hurry before they ran away when seeing me on the stairs.. - Sorry, Santa was not around!
