  • Something new to get addictive....

My dad-in-law gave me his (brandnew) lathe, it didn't come out of the box before... It's a Proxxon , and Eric bought me a box with cisels, and I tried to make something square round... here are the first pictures...
Just made it to see how it all works...
Have a great day my friends x
Did I mention I never get bored...

Way to go! I am having a great time with my newly acquired old lathe too.
I found this site Around the Woods: Contents and there are some suggestions for beginner projects.

Looks like a lot of fun, Frieke. I've often wanted to get a lathe, but don't have room for one in the shop. Besides, I have too many other projects I want to get to and if I got a lathe, I fear I wouldn't ever get anything else done.

Now you really are in trouble! Turning is seriously addictive and there will always be something that you need, chucks, sharpening jigs, pen mandrels etc.
Anothe side effect is you will start to twitch every time you hear a chain saw because that means free wood.
                    Have fun!!!!

Aaaaawwwww Wood Dog, that's so sweet! I stay always on the forum, but I just haven't scrolled lately...so not much to post...did some small woodburnings and learn how to draw...what takes a lot of time..
I have the picture in my head but it won't come out of the pencil....
and I draw a lot on pc , furniture and plans for my Eric...

I'm also working on a clay sculpting what I'll need to carve it in basswood...never done that before so it's also a huge learning process...

I have a huge to do list for my scroll saw but work comes first, and family and....you know what I mean huh?

Lots of love to all my friends here!
