  • Large staining job or How to change the color of your grass

I was outside getting ready to stain some of the wine bottle stand I made. I opened the can of stain and realized I needed something to mix it with so I started to my garage with the can of stain in hand to do that well I tripped and the can went flying. I now have a patch of grass stained Cabernet but no stain to for my up coming project. I'm a bit up set that I did not the the coverage that was listed on the can.

Sure is a pretty color for the grass Dan. I have done that a few times, but inside the shop.

I like the red color much better then the white that is covering my grass. Also my garage floor is pretty blue due to my hubby wanting to stir a can of paint.

Nice color. At least it hit the lawn not the driveway.

Better on the lawn than you. You know what stain does to skin? Don't ask how I know..

You might just be a trendsetter, that's a better color than I can usually get on my lawn....hmmm, could you show me a sample of hunter green?

I glad is just were it did a few feet ether way and it would have been my driveway or patio. Its funny you wanted a sample of green I'm going to be building a clock kit and I was going to use a green dye on it. From here on I'll try to remember to keep the lid on the stain when I'm moving it around.

We do that on purpose here in WA.
A few years ago we had a locust plague and the towns in it's path dyed their bowling greens brown/Red. Apparently it works

What do you use to shrink wrap, and what do you use it on? Lately in the puzzles section I've seen a couple of you mention shrink wrapping. I've considered such a leap. Even though the basics are all similar from manufacturer to manufacturer, it's still leaves some questions. Maybe others have...

At work (like 15 years ago) we got in some aluminum sheet on pallets 4'x12'. Those pallets were like brand new, without even any discoloring from the metals. I asked our sales rep, and he said I could keep one pallet. I removed all the 4' boards, which measured about 1/2" thick, 4" wide...

I agree that needs to be saved for a special project. The wood is likely oak based on the grain pattern and the discoloration around the nail.
