  • Last minute present, not scrolled

I needed a last minute present for my sister where we will be for Christmas day.
The bell is 4" tall from a maple log I cut up in the spring, the clapper is scrap blood wood and the finial is walnut scrap. I haven't turned for a while so this was good practice.
The finish is 2 coats of wipe on poly.

Wow Rolf, those are terrific. Thanks for showing them. I don't turn but after seeing those it makes me want to attempt it.

Beautiful Rolf. She will be very pleased to receive it, I'm sure. I've never done a turn project. You do very nice work. Thanks for letting us look.

Well, yesterday, I shot my 18 in the morning. The grands came over and I got one of em to try it out. I had to demonstrate so I got another 12 or so in. Last night I finished up with 90 for the day. Going to challenge myself to one hundred arrows a day for one hundred days. Made an excel spreadsheet...

For me to write something like this with my woodburner, even with the fine ball tip pens, is just not possible for me. The variations in the wood grain really complicate things.

A few weeks ago Elliott was looking around and saw a bow and arrows in the rafters in the basement. PopPop I didn’t know you had a bow and arrow. I don’t. It’s Mimi’s. Been a long time since I used it. Maybe I should get it out again.
