  • Letter from Santa

I received this email the other day

    Dear John,
I am having a bit of trouble getting all my requests made this year, could you please help me out by making 50 "Name Trains". See attached list of names.
You can forward them, postage paid to C/- Santa, The North Pole.

    Christmas Greetings
    Father Christmas.

    My reply,

    Dear Santa,
I was just wondering how you'd look in place of the angel on the tree.

    Best wishes
    John

ROFLMAO John! - you disappoint me with your overly polite way of telling the mailer where to stick it! Are you on the 'become mellower with age' pills mate?

PS - I thought of drawing up a short list of various forum members who might have sent you that mail but the short list is becoming too long!

Funny John. Wasn't me either. Wish I had thought of it though.... Perhaps you best get busy making those name trains. Perhaps you can redeem yourself with Santa if you hurry.

I would start by tracing your piece on a piece of 1/8" (3mm) material and then cut the back our such that it is a fraction smaller that your project. Then I would cut your piece into two pieces. I mean cut the angel from the cloud. I would then put the cloud on the 1.8" backer and then with...

First off how thick is the board you cut?
When I want something to stand out I use backer-boards 1/8 thick to get the depth.
that means you would have to cut the big cutting into pieces to put the spacer behind.
for instance the cloud bottom right which his hand is on I would put maybe...
