  • Apology to Canada

    I hope I haven't hurt Canada's economy too bad.
For better than 15 years I have consumed at least a quart of LTD every day.
Oct 31 was the last day, not a drop since. To be honest I don't really miss it.
The only parts I don't like sso far is sober and I can't cut a strait line on the saw anymore. LOL
Through the years I've had 3 doctors really get after me about the dangers in drinking that much.. They're all dead. Apparently it's even more dangerous to worry about it.
Don't tell any of the old crew I used to ride with in Wyoming. They wouldn't believe you.

Beer consumption statistics - Countries Compared - NationMaster

According to the aforenamed web site (2002 data) the average American consumes 85 liters of beer per year. That translates to 22 1/2 gallons of beer per person per year. That is just shy of 2 gallons a month. Sounds like you were helping to keep those averages up there. I will keep you in the prayer list for those of us trying to bring that average down. That's a hard row to hoe that you are working but there have been more than a 'few' of us who have worked it and successfully so. If you need any words of encouragement say so - I'm a wordsmith by trade and can always spare a few words of encouragement. Otherwise, good luck and keep us informed how you're holding up. We are in your corner on this one.

Thanks John, Everyone was worried just stopping but I didn't experience any sort of withdrawal simptoms like people were predicting. Oh well. I always have had aproblem fitting others mold. I guess at times that's a good thing.
The doc I have now will be happy. I probably saved his life. LOL
      Thanks again for caring. Rob

Great Job Rob!!! I quit almost six years ago and don't miss it at all! Now I get to tell stories about being a designated driver and what they can't remember in the mornin'...I even get to ad lib from time to time and they don't know the difference - lol! Hopefully you'll find that straight line on the saw!

BTW...I see in your post where you mentioned something about the crew you used to ride with...where at in Wyoming? When we (my ex and I) lived in Wyoming we road with ABATE of Cody and rode various other charity events such as Jessie's Polar Bear Run (Lovell), Santa's Helpers Toy Run (Powell) and Fly's Cancer Run (Cody)...just wondering if you know any of that crew!?! They are an awesome bunch of characters...miss 'em lots!!!!

My quitting was like that too. Can't drink anymore. OK. Better off because at 5'9" and 125 lbs. I was the kind of drunk that wanted to pick fights. I had nothing to back up the attitude with. Much safer not drinking.
Even now, when I have a glass of wine and want more, I quit for a few weeks or so and then I can have a glass again. No more than one a night.
