  • Victoria Day Holiday

I am just curious as to how many countries celebrate 24th of May Victoria Day as a long weekend holiday. Is it just the British Comonwealth ? What all countries does it actually include ? ? ? . Geography never was one of my stronger subjects.

It is Victoria Day stat holiday here in Canada as well as the anual Creston Valley Blossom Festival. So we are enjoying another 4 day visit with our kids and grandkids. We always look forward to visits with the kids and love to get together with family every chance we get even though they all live many miles away. .
Big parade here today and lots of fireworks tonight for the kids to enjoy.
The kids and grandkids always look forward to the scrollsawed items that I make and they always get to take some home with them..

I was surprised that I got no responses here on this topic . But it is not required now. I posted the topic at the same time on a few sites to get varying views on it and I got all the responses I needed on the Woodworking Friends site where there are many international members and a few came up with excellent information on the subject.
I learned a lot of interesting facts that I didn't know about regarding the British commonwealth.
    Thanks for looking.

Congratulations Carl on being sworn in as a Canadian citizen. Here is one the pieces of information I got previously when I posted the topic in a few sites.

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Commonwealth

It may be of interest to you because you will soon be officially a part of the British Commonwealth.
Previous to reading that site I had no idea that the British Commonwealth covered so many different areas of the world.

Thanks Bill and Charlie. I have always been part of the Commonwealth.

I left the UK in 1965.
I became a member of the biggest nation in the world.
              The ProcrastiNation.

I am looking forward to Friday. We are having a huge party on Saturday. 40 people or so. Beer and Burgers all around.

I am even setting up the tent trailer at my friends house so I wont have to drive.

I really don't drink too much. I found eating is more of my vice!

                Congradulations!
You didn't post the address so we can all help celebrate.

Welcome to your new nation Carl.

Hope it meets your expectations, and that you adapt to it's life style.

(I guess you've been here long enough to have judged it did, or you wouldn't have applied for nationality )

                    Bienvenue,
