Need a Bay Area Wood Professional to help with a job for a non-profit client. Can we find one available on this message board?

    Cynthia:

I am just curious about your term "professional'.

I think (but I could be wrong) our member Kuo Yee is from your area. Look up her work in the members galleries. (On the left of you screen, look for Scroller Galleries and click on the link. On the next page look for Member Galleries and click again. Then click on the letter K on the alphabet list. Click on Kuo Yee's name.)

If you are using the term 'professional' to express a high level of scroll saw expertise, just take a look at her chess set.

I don't think scroll sawing is how she earns a living, but she is recommended.

'Nuff' said, judge for yourself about her work.

    Phil

I bought a few new pieces of equipment last year. I researched the tar out of them. Kept putting it off. Debating. Convincing myself they were pure "wants", and definitely not needs. I got impulsive and then ordered a couple of things. Nearly cancelled the orders too, since they were...

I’m doing what’s on the cover of Woodworks and Crafts, Sept 2004, for a special customer. I’m going to use 1/2” wood and back with verigated grays for the background. I really love working with White oak and other quarter sawn wood. It makes beautiful baskets.

Now that you mention it Rolf, he just said something about a Nova! Woodcraft doesn’t have the Rikon in stock but it is free delivery to the store, which isn’t too far from us. Next week, he will still be deciding.

At my stage in life, it is called spending the spending the kid's inheritance. The older I get the easier it is becoming.

While quartersawn wood is beautiful I find it a bit tricky to scroll. It is not for every project. When you hit the start of the growth ring the wood is hard and the cut slows but when you hit the pulp in between the rings it is soft and the cutting speeds up....
