  • Bolivian Rosewood

I was making a handle for one of the carving knives I made over the weekend and discovered that Bolivian Rosewood is harder than $9 worth of jawbreakers! Here is a tip that may save you some elbowgrease. Band saw the handle to near net shape, finsh shaping on a belt or drum sander, smooth with 120 grit and get the final shape, then polish it with a fine Scotchbrite wheel! After a few minutes on the Scotchbrite wheel, I had a glass-like finish. A dab of tung oil and the handle was done and very attractive.

Any way I decided to tune up both of my saws, the EX 16 and my Hawk G4-26. I thought I had the EX perfectly square to the table until I cut...

Great news. I know from personal experience getting the vaccine has been a great uplift to me. It gives a new hope that the worst is truly behind us. In the US we did not have a choice in most cases. You got whatever you got. My wife and I both had the Pfizer one and had minimal issues like: arm...
