Well, It seems to me you can either increase the size of the blank or slightly decrease the size of the pattern. Most printers will allow you to increase or decrease the size of you printing job.
Hat, ears, and the mustache are some areas you might look at. A mustache that big would surely be bushy. Ears could maybe come forward some.

My first intarsia which is 2 ½ years old, and just before my Heron , took on Pinterest, that I found so funny! He is 9” X 6” X 1/2”, and the woods used are cherry, elm, ebony, and sapelli on the 25 parts. Finish with oil tried & true
