  • Wacky Beaver Bird House

I Have almost completed the wacky beaver bird house, Paul Meisel, Spring issue.

Unfortunately like many US projects I am unable to obtain the plastic eyes needed
    # 3437 and the flush mount hanger #1262. I have tried ordering from Pauls website but it appears that shipping applys to only the US and Canada. I have also tried the web in the UK but eyes only seem to come in bulk orders, no luck either with the hanger. Does anyone hailing from the UK know of anywhere I can get these items. Maybe I will have to devise some sort of flush hanger and make the eyes from wood

    Harry UK.

Harry can you post a pic? If it's what I'm thinking I personally prefer making the eyes.
I may be able to help with the hanger if I could see what you need.

Harry I think I would make a keyhole mount...
Amazon.com: Freud 70-104 25/64-Inch Diameter Key Hole Router Bit with 1/4-Inch Shank: Home Improvement

Here is how to use it...
            Keyhole Router Bit - YouTube

Steve shows a vertical mount you can also do a horizontal mount...side to side across the top of your project. Your choice if you make and entry and an exit plunge.

Harry, Mike had a good idea or maybe a back plate a little larger than the piece and that would give you room for mounting screws.
I found a supplier in UK that can probably help with the eyes

Thanks Mike looks like a neat tool, Could I not get the same effect marking out a keyhole and
cutting out with the scroll saw.

I will try that UK site Rob thanks for taking the trouble to look.
