Having Registration/Account Issues?

An update:

After getting a few emails about restricted accounts for new users, I did some digging...

At some point unbeknownst to me, a setting must have been changed that required all new users to get admin approval before being allowed to post. As we hadn't really thought about it before and didn't have the problem with WCI, we hadn't checked the approval bin.

This is fixed now, but will probably result in two things: new friends, and new spammers.

Will continue to keep an eye out.

Edit: IT verified the issue with our forum software help forum, and found this was a known issue with an update a while ago.

I have yet to receive my winter issue of the magazine. I've checked my account, Customer number: [Removed for privacy] the subscription expires in Spring of 2023 and I still have 4 issues remaining. This seems to me that I should have gotten the winter issue, I usually get mine with in two weeks after Rolf posts he got his, he posted in early Oct. it is now Dec. Could you please check and see if you can figure out what happened? And if possible send the issue asap there are a couple of puzzles I want to make as Christmas gifts. Thank you.

This is a bit of a copy and paste from the WCI forums who seem to have more issues with this than SSW, but I know this problem has popped up once or twice here over the years.

The forums typically see a slight boost in viewership during the holiday season, so I figured now would be probably the best time to post this:

Every once and a while it seems that unregistered users encounter problems during the sign-up process, this may be due to any number of reasons, but it is typically IP/network related and somewhat difficult to diagnose remotely. (Edit: could also be a blacklisted email provider/address, or the Captcha/anti-spam might have decided to take the day off)

Should you encounter issues while trying to register, please feel free to reach out to me via e-mail directly or contact one of our moderators who can route your information to me. I can usually have you set up within a few hours from first contact. Same thing for changing your username, just reach out!
