    Marsha, speed isn't the issue because I'm using a T1 connection. Even the larger pictures should load in a matter of seconds.

    Phil, if this 'flush' is done at a cold boot then I should be okay (I shut the computer down at the end of every day). Coincidentally I came across a printout last week of some instructions you gave on this board last year some time about deleting cookies and browser temp files. That is taken care of. I'll have to check about the spy/ad ware.

    I am on dialup and never had a problem with photobucket or picturetrail ever. Unless the user has deleted the original picture. All the pictures on this board have come up for me.

    Bob:

    Normally, very seldom. A flush occurs normally (usually?) on full power cycle (a.k.a. cold boot)

    Usual symptoms of DNS flush needed are:
    one, or two, specific sites will not load web pages or content correctly,
    and
    a well known web site cannot be found (IP address resolved) and site is known to be on line.

    BTW: the 2nd solution is to clear the web browser's temp files;
    3rd is to make sure any cookies for the site are removed.
    4th is to verify all spy-ware and ad-ware are removed.

    How often should you do that, Phil?

    Bruce:

    If, and only if, you are using Windows XP sp2,

    you may, and I repeat MAY, need to flush your DNS cache:

    Get to a black screen command prompt window (start --> run--> CMD; there are many other ways also to get to Black Screen. )
    and type: ipconfig /flushdns then hit the enter key.

    try loading a photobucket photo forum thread again to see if this helped. Normally, for your problem description the above helps only about 50% to 60% of the time.

The 'progress' bar on the bottom on the browser screen looks like it's trying, but never finishes. I'm on a network connection, so speed shouldn't be a factor. It gets frustrating to read all the posts about the pictures without being able to see them. Any ideas?
