We did choose the winners - There were about 130 entries and tons of beautiful, creative projects. It was very difficult to make the final selections. We'll be running coverage of the contest in the next issue. In the meantime, I'll check with our publisher to see if we can post something on the website.
Now Grizz not sure if you are just being hard on yourself or the theme of your design was humorus. Would still like to see them. What would be nice is if we could see them before we find out the winners. This way we can pick our own winners and see how they match the judges decisions. What do you think?? Look forward to seeeing the creative minds we have on this site.

That would be fun. I reckon a bit controversial too.
Well, I would like to go on record here as strongly opposed to making all the entries viewable to the general public.
This would indeed make for a heated controversial discussion and that is something that has been avoided on this forum - it is refreshing to have the comraderie found here. Making all entries available to viewing is baiting a huge debat as to personal opinions and the popularity of some members here on this forum.
I trust the people in the know running the competition made their decisions based on specific criteria and look forward to hearing their decision and congratulating the winner.
Good to hear that they'll publish pictures about the contest in the next Magazine, I'm anxious to see the winning projects. I hope that other entrees will also be published in future issues and that the designers might post some of their work..I do believe that it is up to the individuals to share what they submitted and just want them to know that I would Love to see more new projects and designs posted on this forum
I have to agree with Toni.
The publisher has selected winning entries based on their criteria.
I am sure there will be some wonderful winning entries here.
If an entrant did not win and they would like to submit a project to the forum for a critique, that is their choice.
I also think it would be in the entrants best interest to check with the publisher before doing so.
I would think, in the grand scheme of things, many of these patterns will be published whether they won or not.
Give the folks at Fox Chapel a chance to sort through the patterns. We all have lots of projects to do from Issue 22.

I have seen contests for cabinet making, bowl turning, and many many other contests where all entrys were shown. What is so bad about showing the entrys. If the person did not want them to be seen then they should not have entered. I think you Toni and others underestimate the viewers here. Controversy? Nobody can change the judges decisions. You go to any scrollsaw picnic there are the entrys and the judges pick the winners. The losers don't go knock the judges on the head because they lost. Wow I think that is pretty rough to say that we can't handle the judges decisions. This is just my opinion but.
Our Judges are some of the best woodworkers I have ever met. On occasion I get asked to explain what I look for in the scrolling categories. I point out all of the nuances. I can't be a judge as I have intarsia and scroll work entries.
There may have been some crud on the tips from manufacturing.
In the ~20 years of scrolling I never cleaned the ends of my blades until recently. Even with the Pegas clamps I was having some blade slippage, I now scuff the ends of my blades with some 220 grit paper End of problem.!...
Don’t over sand them as you will shorten their usable life. Only sand as needed. Another thing to do is clear your blades before installing. Blades are coated with oil to prevent rust. Wipe the ends with alcohol or lightly sand with 320 grit.
The fact that you only had approximately 6 hours on the saw tells me there was a thin oily film on the clamps from the manufacturing process.
If problem continues you may have spread the clamps in the process of tighten blades. A common problem with OEM parts. This issue will disappear by replacing...
10” compound dual bevel sliding mitre saw with laser. Bruce said to buy a new blade because the blade that comes with it sucks. Sells here for $289. It was on sale plus his military discount and a $50 gift certificate from his woodworking club. Bruce said to check out on Google 10” kolbalt mitre...
